Project Overview
The project involved transforming an outdated conservatory into a modern, functional orangery that complements the existing architecture of the property. The objective was to create a versatile living space that integrates premium materials, enhances natural light, and incorporates modern features while improving the space’s energy efficiency and overall aesthetic appeal.
Client Brief
The client wished to replace their outdated conservatory with a contemporary orangery that would harmoniously blend with the architectural style of their home. They required structural enhancements, including extending the base and constructing a 450mm dwarf wall to support the new design. Premium features, such as bespoke oak-framed windows and French doors, were essential to achieve a refined and durable finish.
Camel was responsible for supplying and fit replacement orangery for the existing conservatory including the removal of the existing and extending the base, 450mm dwarf wall with oak windows, oak pair of french doors with side screens, fibre glass roof with large lantern to the centre with 2 electric-operated roof openers with downlighters, new roof to the cupboard (to include plastering, oak window boards, skirtings and to remove the tiles and fit new laminate flooring).
To maximise natural light and ventilation, the client specified a fibreglass roof with a central lantern and electrically operated roof openers. Additional requirements included functional upgrades such as replacing the roof of the adjacent cupboard, installing modern laminate flooring, and applying high-quality interior finishes. A key priority was ensuring that the materials and finishes complemented the existing aesthetic of the property, creating a cohesive and elegant addition to the home.
Project Highlights
The project showcased exceptional design, craftsmanship, and meticulous attention to detail. The design team worked closely with the client to bring their vision to life, managing every stage of the process, from initial groundwork to final completion.
Demonstrating remarkable skill, the joinery team transformed oak planks into exquisite frames and doors, reflecting the precision and artistry of traditional woodworking techniques. Each piece was crafted to align with the client’s specifications and overall vision.
The groundwork and structural building were expertly executed by Camel Glass, while skilled subcontractors handled the fibreglass roof and electrical installations. The installation team ensured the seamless assembly of oak frames, joinery doors, and the aluminium skylight, adhering to the highest quality standards. The project was completed with full decoration and flooring, adding the final touches to bring the design to life. Regular communication with the client throughout ensured satisfaction at every stage.
