Case Study: Full Windows and Doors Package for a New Build Home in Bideford

Project Brief

Set on a family farm near Bideford, Stoneacre was designed to be a forever home — a property created to make the most of its rural surroundings, natural light and views out towards Clovelly.

Camel Glass was chosen to supply and install a full windows and doors package for this stunning new build property, including aluminium windows, bi-fold doors, Schüco sliding doors and a statement Poldark Slate Inspiration front door.

The glazing played a key role in the overall design, helping to create the bright, open and airy feel the homeowners were looking for.

A forever home filled with natural light

From the start, the homeowners wanted the glazing to maximise natural light while allowing them to enjoy the views around the property.

Large areas of glazing were used throughout the home to create a strong connection with the surrounding landscape. The RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey aluminium finish also provided a clean, contemporary look that worked beautifully alongside the brick, stone and slate exterior.

Glazed gable and Schüco sliding doors

One of the standout features of the property is the bedroom glazing, where a large glazed gable sits above Schüco sliding doors.

This creates a striking feature from both inside and outside the home, allowing the homeowners to enjoy the evening sky and views out towards Clovelly.

The result is a bright, peaceful bedroom space with expansive views and a strong architectural focal point.

Creating inside-out family living

Downstairs, bi-fold doors were chosen for the kitchen and playroom areas, helping to open the home out onto the patio.

This gives the family a flexible inside-out living space, perfect for everyday use, summer barbecues, family gatherings and parties.

The bi-fold doors create a seamless link between the interior and exterior, making the patio feel like a natural extension of the living space.

Triple glazing for comfort and peaceful living

Elsewhere in the property, triple glazed aluminium windows were selected to help improve comfort and create a quieter living environment.

This ensures the home not only looks impressive, but also performs well day to day.

A statement Poldark Slate Inspiration front door

The front entrance was completed with a Poldark Slate Inspiration flush door with side frame.

With the property named Stoneacre, and with stone and slate playing a major role in the exterior design, the Poldark Slate finish was chosen to tie the entrance in beautifully with the rest of the home.

The finished entrance creates a real wow factor and gives the property a premium, bespoke first impression.
