Aluminium Production Manager

Our Company

Camel are a well-known established, family-run company, with nearly 40 years of experience trading in the window and door industry. We have 4 branches throughout Cornwall and Devon all offering a variety of goods and services including supply only, and supply and fit of PVCu, aluminium, architectural glass, and joinery to the trade and domestic market. We have an outstanding reputation for our ability to manufacture and fabricate products to the highest quality, delivering a service second to none to our customer base throughout the southwest. We have an aluminium fabrication factory based on the Cornwall/North Devon border. The factory has a machine shop with saw and CNC centre, with manual assembly lines. We currently have 12 fabricators. The factory currently supplies windows and doors to our branches. However, there is huge potential for growth in sales and production beyond this. The Role

We are looking for a Production Supervisor to supervise our team of fabricators at our aluminium factory. You will be reporting to the branch manager on production activities and supervising the production team to ensure that quality and productivity are consistently achieved.

You will also be championing high standards of health and safety and ensuring a good working ethos is consistently maintained throughout the factory.

You will have excellent technical support from current line leaders and although previous experience of working in aluminium fabrication would be beneficial, it’s not essential. Previous experience in supervising or managing a factory environment is, essential for this role.

Experience of effective people management and the ability to interpret basic factory paperwork, as well as basic IT skills are essential. Great communication skills, leadership, a positive attitude and being a good motivator are all traits that would suit this role. Helping keep the team engaged and efficient is a key part of the role. Some knowledge of H&S in a factory setting is also desirable.

Salary: £29,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Plus pension, generous overtime rates, and an opportunity to progress within the company.

Hours: Full time 42.5 hours Monday to Friday between 8.00 am to 5.00 pm

  • Dealing with external calls and emails, or forwarding to the relevant department where necessary
  • Raising stock or warranty orders
  • Using MS Outlook and Word
  • Provision of general typing, filing and administration assistance to colleagues
  • Make clear decisions and communicate effectively and openly with customers and ensuring ongoing engagement as much as possible
  • Effective time management to support the business needs
  • Coordinating tasks and assessing priorities to manage conflicting needs across the business
  • Where required, collate and present information for both internal and external use
  • Regularly monitor, review and when required update admin documentation and procedures
  • To assist in supporting and developing the Camel Group reputation

KEY SKILLS
