This knock-down and rebuild project remains sensitive to its surroundings while maximising the available views.

At the heart of the project’s success is the intelligent application of glazing solutions, including Schüco sliding doors, expertly fabricated and installed by Camel Glass.. These high-performance elements not only enhance the building’s visual appeal but also play a crucial role in flooding the interiors with natural light and framing sweeping views of the landscape. Expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing, clean architectural lines, and precision-engineered aluminium profiles forge a seamless connection between indoors and out, achieving a careful balance between openness and privacy.

The project went on to win Best Residential Installation (over £30,000) at the 2026 GGP Installer Awards, recognising the quality of the design, fabrication and installation.

Set in a location exposed to harsh coastal conditions — including strong winds, salt-laden air, and fluctuating temperatures — the project required a glazing solution capable of withstanding these extremes without compromising on aesthetics or occupant comfort.

The design called for a careful balance between transparency and resilience. In close collaboration with the architects, precision-engineered Schüco systems were meticulously selected and customised to deliver maximum visual openness while ensuring structural strength and superior thermal performance. All of the Schüco aluminium systems used throughout the project were expertly fabricated by our Holsworthy branch. With a focus on precision, quality, and technical excellence, the team at Holsworthy ensured that each element met the highest standards of performance and finish. Their expertise was critical in delivering the sleek profiles, flawless operation, and robust weather resistance required for this coastal build, helping to realise the architect’s vision of a light-filled, resilient, and contemporary home.

For the main entrance a Inspiration Door was chosen in an elegant oxidised iron finish, perfectly complementing the building’s modern yet rugged coastal aesthetic. Its bold, textured appearance harmonises with the architectural language of the home, providing a striking yet cohesive focal point that sets the tone for the interiors beyond. Combining durability with refined design, the door not only enhances the visual impact of the entrance but also reinforces the project’s commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
