Salary: £58,500 OTE per annum

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time Based on 42.5-hour week

Requirements: Driving licence, commercially astute, highly sales driven with an understanding of the fenestration industry.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

The Business Development Manager will play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding our client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving our growth strategy. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional relationship management skills and a proven track record in sales and business development. The manager will follow up on sales leads and generate new opportunities, providing tailored advice and product recommendations to meet the specific needs of each potential new client or existing key account.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategy to reach your sales targets and expand the company’s customer base
  • Visit new sites to generate the opportunity to win new work.
  • Prepare and present quote proposals and presentations to potential clients and key accounts.
  • Identify new business opportunities in the fenestration industry, including market trends and customer needs.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Possess a comprehensive technical knowledge of all fenestration products offered by the company to advise potential clients and key accounts effectively.
  • Demonstrate and explain products to potential new clients and key accounts in the showroom or through on-site visits.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of building regulations to ensure all price proposals are compliant and suitable for the client’s project.
  • Attend pre-let meetings unaccompanied, confidently representing the company and enhancing the opportunity to win new business.
  • Identify and capitalise on additional project opportunities by suggesting viable alternatives or enhancements.
  • Employ creative problem-solving to address complex project requirements effectively.
  • Build and maintain a customer base of key accounts that generates repeat business and fosters long-term relationships.
  • Use the sales tracker to log, follow up on, and manage all leads and information for key accounts, adding updates and tracking sales progress meticulously.
  • Advise potential new customers and key accounts of any specific payment plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company financial procedures.

KEY SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of the fenestration market, including products, customers, and competitors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of IT systems, including Microsoft 365, with the ability to manage account information effectively.
  • Proven work experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role in the fenestration industry.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Good literacy skills and the ability to communicate clearly by email, crafting messages that resonate with potential new clients and key accounts.
  • Effective time management skills to accomplish tasks efficiently and meet the demands of key accounts.
  • Ability to remain focused and productive when managing multiple tasks or key account projects.
  • Sound business sense, understanding profit mark-up, margins, and the financial aspects of key account management.
